How is the energy born?

Find out with RusHydro!
Why is it worth visiting?
Now you have an opportunity to look behind the curtains of RusHydro energy facilities and see with your own eyes how the electricity is born out of energy of water, wind and sun. Choose your destination and come visit us!
  • About RusHydro

To conquer the energy of the nature is not an easy task. However, it is done by the RusHydro Group – Russian overall leader in the production of electricity from renewable resources. There are 400 power stations on the RusHydro map today and more than 90 renewable energy facilities. The total power capacity of them is 38GW
  • Century-old History

100 years past USSR has implemented the GOELRO plan, that involved electrification of the whole country and hydropower had a special place in the plan. Classis English writer Herbert Wells called that plan an utopia. And he was wrong… By 1931 the plan was considered to be a success and in just two years energy production jumped in 30%
  • Clean Energy

Hydroelectric power plant does not require coal or nuclear fuel to produce electricity so it is the most sustainable source of energy. Each year the electricity generated here at RusHydro saves us from burning more than 3 million tons of coal and emitting 40 million tons of carbonic acid
  • Engineering wonder

The scale and engineering innovation of Russian hydroelectric power plants (HPP) are mind blowing. The dam of Chirkeyskaya HPP is among the top 25 most tall and beautiful ones. From the latest Zaramagskaya HPP-1 opens up an astonishing view of the Badskoe Gorge in North Ossetia
  • Unlimited opportunities

HPP – is the only engineering object that can produce electricity right during the construction process. First hydraulic units are often launched when the dam has not been built yet and the engine room not finished
