Unique arch dam
The highest arch dam in our country is in the Chirkeysky gorge, where the purest of waters flows from the mountain river Sulak. Its thickness varies from 30 meters at the foot to 6 meters at the crest. Walking on the top feels like being on a thin pathway: on one side there are tons of water, on the other – the terrifying abyss 232 meters long

About the tourIntroduction to the Chirkeyskaya HPP will start fr om the most beautiful waypoint – the observation deck of the upper stream, from wh ere an incredible view of the mountain gorge opens up. After that, you will visit the construction museum, step down to the emergency spillway and have a walk along the lower stream. You will be offered to continue the journey to Miatlinskaya HPP

Hydroelectric power plants are strictly
guarded objects. Due to complex equipment used, there are increased security
measures:

On the territory of the power plant, you are not allowed to:
- get close to the equipment, control panels and electrical assembles;
- look at the electric arc;
- come over the fences or lean on them;
- touch any buttons, levers, or switches;
- step on cables, wires and hoses;
- stay in the area of a working crane or move along the tracks;
- enter the spaces that are outside of your route;
- smoke, use alcohol drinks or psychotropic drugs;
- photo or video shoot outside the places where it is allowed.

During a tour a visitor must:
- keep the discipline, follow the instructions of your guide and move strictly along the route determined by the guide;
- wear personal protective equipment given by the organizer: a helmet and a vest;
- immediately inform the guide about sudden health issues, injuries or life risks for you or others around you;
- pay attention to the warning and prohibiting posters and follow those instructions;
- be careful in icy conditions, walk only on paths cleared of ice and sprinkled with sand;
- use non-slippery type of shoes;
- step with your whole foot when go up or down the stairs, never run, jump or be distracted by cell phones.

It is strictly prohibited to bring
- any weapons, self-defense included: ammunition, piercing or cutting items; explosive, venomous or poisonous acid substances, radioactive materials, simulational firearms, signal or starter pistols.
- tools that can be used as piercing or cutting weapons: drills, cutters, saws, screwdrivers, crowbars, hammers, pliers, wrenches, corkscrews;
- electric shock devices, flammable and pyrotechnic substances, including flares, firecrackers and gas bottles;
- coloring substances;
- alcohol drinks of any kind, narcotic or toxic drugs and stimulants;
- food and drinks;
- (semi)-professional photo and video equipment;
- radio stations, computers and pads;
- suitcases, bags of any kind and backpacks (including children’s).
